It's hard to miss you...if you never go away
It's a OT7 world, save for Jin in the Army and JK being social media silent.
So welcome to full year one of BTS not being BTS, thanks to Jin being in the Army. Then, Yoongi going off, probably in March (his birthday is 3/9), to whatever service awaits him. We know the countdown, Hobi, then Namjoon, then Jimin, then Tae, and finally JK.
Our goodbyes will keep going until the hello again sometime in 2025.
Fine. We know the drill.
But if you’re not full stan, you may not realize that BTS is busier and more in full effect than ever. I mean, my social media this week was nothing but Yoongi, Jimin and Hobi in Paris, making everybody go crazy at the spring fashion shows. Hobi was the social butterfly we expected, Jimin looked quietly sassy, and Yoongi had the low-key king, boss vibe going.
Tae dropped two Weverse lives out of the blue, to tell us he ordered “expensive” strawberries (honestly afraid to ask what Tae’s definition of expensive is, yanno?), and was gaming out with his buddies and JK. His new reality show, filmed in Mexico late last year, is coming in February. I just got through re-watching his Wooga Squad In the Soop, and man, that was fun. Hope this new show is just as strong.
Jimin has been squeeing with his inner fan boy for K-boyband OG Taeyang, thanks to their fun collaboration “Vibe”. Close second place honors for Yoongi’s deep Taeyang love, as he adorably showed on his most recent Suchwita show. Jimin’s new album is rumored to be coming next. I think we are just starting to see the stuff from him.
Namjoon’s Indigo album is still in heavy Spotify rotation, thanks to the hot Anderson. Paak “Still Life” collab and all the videos he did for the rest of the songs. I’m still a little in shock that Joon took us on a tour of his place (aka the art museum filled with books…and whiskey), let us see him work out (Don’t close the gyms HYBE!), and the rest for his album promo. It felt really honest and I enjoyed every minute. When I do my weight training, I think of Joon…half a world away, doing kettle bells too. Haha.
Jin even blessed us with a quick update and photo at the end of his basic training. Which was sweet. Still seems strange to know he is not going to pop up anytime soon with bizarre but hilarious something online. I miss Super Tuna. I miss his video games. I miss his laugh. Oh well. It will be back.
JK? Hello? All good.
Point being, when they said they were off to do stuff...they were not joking. It’s fun to wake up and see new content, even if I know it was shot like 2 years ago. (Like: the recent sleep stuff on Weverse, y’all wearing your PTD hair. Platinum Hobi. Nuff said.) Still interesting.
Bottom line: it’s hard to keep your eye on everything that’s happening. But doesn’t mean I won’t try. See you at the movies this week for the Busan concert.
Will give you an update from my experience at my local theatre!
